Correction of dental and facial irregularities
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that corrects teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly. The benefits of orthodontic treatment include a healthier mouth, a more pleasing appearance, and teeth that are more likely to last a lifetime.
“A smile is a universal welcome"
With ever changing times, every individual has realized the importance of a beautiful smile. Some of us have it naturally, while others don't. With the advent of newer methods and techniques, it is now possible for all of us to have that infectious smile. A perfect smile breeds confidence to take on the world and we are here to not only make you look good but also feel good about yourself. We want all our patients to acquire back that self esteem and that confidence that they have lost somewhere due to that imperfect smile.

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry dealing with correction of arrangement of teeth & bite thereby improving the smile and function. Not many have well arranged teeth also called as ideal Occlusion. There are many children and adults having teeth that are crowded or spaced or outwardly projecting also known as protruded teeth etc. These irregularities of teeth are known as Malocclusions and are an important factor in robbing one of a good smile. Braces are appliances that the Orthodontist uses to correct your jaw, bite & thus the smile. These braces are either fixed on to the teeth to bring about the desired movement of your teeth.

Braces:

Braces are appliances that the Orthodontist uses to correct your bite. These braces are either fixed on to the teeth or rest against your teeth and bring about the desired movement of your teeth.
Why need braces:
Improves your smile - A good smile adds up to the personality of an individual. A fabulous smile makes you attractive and also improves one's confidence levels. Braces improve your smile and therefore improve your appearance.
Improves chewing - Teeth are an important part of the digestive system. Chewing of food by the teeth is the beginning of the digestive process before the food is passed on to the tummy. So having a good bite improves the function of the teeth.
Prevents other dental problems - Crooked teeth prevent maintenance of good oral hygiene. This can lead to other dental problems such as dental decay and gum diseases.

Psychological benefits - Not having a good smile can adversely affect the appearance and therefore the mental well being of an individual. It tends to make one an introvert and highly self-conscious.
Risk of trauma - Teeth which are protruding out have an increased risk towards trauma to them. This is more so in children during play or due to an accidental fall.
Different kinds of braces:
Braces have evolved over the years & the modern day braces are smaller and have contours more comfortable for the tissues. Some braces move teeth while certain other appliances are used to mould the jaws during the treatment. The most common type of Orthodontic braces is the metallic type. They are steely or golden in appearance and are used extensively. However, for smile conscious patients, there are clear or ceramic or plastic braces as well that are tooth colored and therefore not noticeable. Braces can be fitted inside as well known as Lingual Braces.
